This Privacy Policy explains how HouseHunter ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application (the "App"). By using HouseHunter, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Location Data

HouseHunter collects location data to enable you to save and organize neighborhoods you want to explore. Specifically:

• When You Save a Location: When you tap the widget or manually save a location, we capture your current GPS coordinates (latitude and longitude).
• Reverse Geocoding: We convert your GPS coordinates into readable addresses (street address, city, province/state) to help you organize and identify your saved locations.
• No Background Tracking: We do NOT track your location in the background. Location data is only collected when you actively choose to save a location.

2.2 Account Information

To sync your saved locations across devices, we collect:

• Authentication Data: When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a unique user identifier from these services. This is used solely to link your saved locations to your account.
• Email Address: We may receive your email address from your chosen authentication provider (Apple or Google) for account identification purposes only.

2.3 User-Generated Content

• Notes: Any notes you add to your saved locations are stored to provide you with the App's functionality.
• Favorites: Your favorite real estate platforms and marked favorite locations are stored to personalize your experience.

2.4 Usage Analytics

We use PostHog Analytics to understand how users interact with the App. This helps us improve the user experience. The analytics data collected includes:

• App feature usage (which screens you visit, which buttons you tap)
• Device information (iOS version, device model)
• Session information (app opens, session duration)

Important: Analytics data is anonymized and aggregated. We do not link this data to your personal identity or your saved locations.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

• Provide Core Functionality: To save, organize, and display your chosen locations
• Account Management: To identify you and sync your data across your devices
• Improve the App: To understand how users interact with features and identify areas for improvement
• Customer Support: To respond to your inquiries and provide assistance

4. Data Storage and Security

4.1 Where Your Data is Stored

• Cloud Storage: Your saved locations, notes, and account information are stored securely using Supabase, a trusted cloud database service.
• Local Storage: Some data may be cached locally on your device for offline access and improved performance.

4.2 Security Measures

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

• Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
• Secure authentication through Apple and Google
• Access controls to prevent unauthorized access to your data

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.

We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

• Service Providers: We use trusted third-party services (Supabase for data storage, PostHog for analytics) that help us operate the App. These providers are contractually obligated to keep your information confidential.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to valid legal requests (such as a court order or subpoena).
• Protection of Rights: We may disclose information to protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our users or others.

6. Your Data Rights

You have the following rights regarding your data:

• Access: You can view all your saved locations and account information within the App.
• Correction: You can edit or update your saved locations and notes at any time.
• Deletion: You can delete individual locations or your entire account. When you delete your account, all your data is permanently removed from our servers.
• Data Portability: You can request a copy of your data by contacting us at theredarrowapps@gmail.com.
• Opt-Out of Analytics: While we don't currently offer an in-app toggle, you can contact us to opt out of analytics tracking.

7. Children's Privacy

HouseHunter is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us, and we will delete such information.

8. Third-Party Services

HouseHunter integrates with third-party real estate platforms (such as Realtor.ca, Zillow, HouseSigma, etc.) to help you browse listings. When you tap a link to open these platforms:

• You are leaving the HouseHunter App
• The third-party platform's privacy policy applies
• We do not control or take responsibility for the privacy practices of these platforms

We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of any third-party services you use.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of any material changes by:

• Posting the new Privacy Policy in the App
• Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
• Sending you a notification through the App (for significant changes)

Your continued use of HouseHunter after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.

10. International Users

HouseHunter is primarily designed for users in Canada, but may be used by individuals in other locations. If you are accessing the App from outside Canada, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in countries where our service providers operate. By using the App, you consent to such transfers.
